CARLO BORZAGA Carlo Borzaga is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Trento, where he is also a Professor of Economics. Since 1997, he has served as President of the Istituto Studi Sviluppo Aziende Non-Profit (ISSAN), a research and training institute of the University of Trento that focuses on non-profit research and, since 2002, held the position as Vice-President of the EMES Network (The Emergence of Social Enterprise in Europe). He is currently the scientific co-ordinator of the OECD LEED Centre for Local Development on social economy research. He has worked with the European Commission (DGV), as a member of the Capitalization Committee, to identify policies that sustain the development of the non-profit sector, further to the Community Action "Third System and Employment". He has also worked as an advisor to the Italian government in the development of a number of bills focusing on the non-profit sector: with the Italian Ministry of Labour on policies in support of the non-profit sector's job creation potential (1999); with the Italian Social Solidarity Ministry on the regulation of disabled workers' integration of work (1998) and with the Council of Ministers' Presidency on the draft bill on co-operative worker membership (1998). He has authored and co-edited numerous works on the theory of non-profit enterprises and social enterprises. CARLO BORZAGA Carlo Borzaga è professore ordinario di Politica economica e Preside della Facoltà di Economia dell'Università degli Studi di Trento, dove insegna Economia del lavoro e Economia delle imprese cooperative e nonprofit. E' Presidente dell'Istituto Studi Sviluppo Aziende Nonprofit (ISSAN) dell'Università degli Studi di Trento. Si occupa di analisi economica del mercato del lavoro, e in particolare dell'analisi del fenomeno della disoccupazione, e di analisi economica delle organizzazioni nonprofit, con particolare riferimento alla cooperazione in genere e soprattutto della cooperazione sociale e all'evoluzione del settore in Europa. Su quest'ultimo tema di ricerca ha costituito e organizzato un network di ricercatori europei (EMES) che ha ottenuto diversi sostegni finanziari dalla Comunità Europea. Si occupa infine di analisi dei sistemi di welfare e delle modalità di erogazione di servizi socio-sanitari. << Torna al programma
